About the Workshop

[This event has occurred in the past, and this group is for those who would like to engage with the speakers and content of the program.]

Most of us love our work! Its called working IN the business. Taking time out to work ON the business is something that often gets set aside. All too often working "ON the business" takes a backseat to doing what we love best -- servicing our clients.

This workshop is an opportunity to work on the business and leave with an action plan in at least three areas. Youll have a new confidence with direction, strategies and action items for making 2009 a great year! This will free up the nagging thoughts about what you haven't done for the business and will support the work that you love to do.

When you register, you will choose three different breakout sessions. Workshop size is limited, so get your registration in EARLY to assure your seat in the sessions of your choice.

**SPECIAL OPTION: You will also have an opportunity to get a new professional picture taken! We will have a photographer set up to take a high resolution digital image for a nominal fee. **

Thanks to sponsor Mindjet, we will be offering a drawing for a free licensed copy of MindManager 8 (a $349 value!)

This is an interesting article. It is written from the perspective of making Web 2.0 work within a large organization, but for me, most uses are among people who are not previously connected. Under "Management imperatives for unlocking participation"
the rule that struck me was "The right solution comes from the right participants." It is so hard to find forums where the right people are participating. So many forums attracts idiots and trashers and self-promoters. I think this is why I keep going back to LinkedIn, because it attracts fellow professionals who give thoughtful answers to questions.

I think the rules in this article should be applied to IMC and NorCal. I've always been perplexed why so few members engage in these NorCal forums. We certainly have the right people; we have commonality of interests; we are in good position to help each other; we are computer literate. Yet I've never seen one of these discussions take off and generate vigorous interchange or debate among NorCal members.

When that's the case, people who have been involved just drift away.

I'd like to generate some vigorous debate about this.
