I hope you can make it to IMC's January 10th program
"Make 2009 the Best Yet!".
I'll be leading the workshop on Web 2.0.
Here's the official description:
"Like many buzz words that enter the business vernacular, the definition of Web 2.0 still tends to vary by who is talking about it. In this workshop segment, IMC NorCal President, Brett LaDove will provide an overview to the various commponents that make up web 2.0, and will drill into several key areas to help participants identify tools and techniques to build and manage a consulting business. In this session, Brett will reveal several aspects of the business web, some powerful collaboration tools, and will highlight a number of practical ways to build your brand by leveraging an assortment of user generated content vehicles."
Here's what I'm working on:
First, I'm working on creating some structure around the
what is, how tos, and who's who of Web 2.0. I've seen quite a few presentations about the subject, but I regularly feel there's a need to wrangle it all together and provide a good overview. In the session I will plan on working through the various branches of the chart on the right (which by-the-way I made using Web 2.0 tools -- so the image is automatically updated in multiple places whenever I make changes), and drilling down in a few specific areas. By the end of the session I expect all the participants will have a better understanding of how all the pieces fit together. Also, after the program, I will a distribute a more legible, full page final version of this map -- that you can use to check out the various sites we discuss, and some others that we didn't.
Let me know what you think...there's still time for changes. I look forward to hearing from you, and seeing you at the workshop.
